Funky Front Yard Farmers

To their neighbours, their true identities are shrouded in mystery, hidden behind giant zuchinni leaves, and giant tomato bushes, but to everyone else, they are simply known as Joe and Jo.

Joe and Jo live in Springwood in the Blue Mountains and are a couple with three kids, living the good life on a single income. A couple of years ago they started growing their own vegetables and now their entire front yard is full of fruit trees, vegetable gardens, a greenhouse and flowers.

The Funky Front Yard Farmers Challenge

In January of 2011 Joe and Jo are putting all that they have learnt in the garden to the test and their family will be going self sufficient for a week. Other than flour, milk, a tub of honey, olive oil and eggs from the chickens, everything else will be supplied from their vegetable garden. This is now referred to as the Funky Frontyard Farmers Challenge.
