Blue Mountains City Council's Role
Taking action and monitoring our progress
Having created a 25 year Vision for the City of Blue Mountains, including identifying key objectives and strategies, it is important to establish how best to monitor and check progress in achieving our Vision for the City.
Over 2004-2008, the Blue Mountains City Council committed to developing a Sustainable Blue Mountains website to provide information and understanding about the progress towards achieving the City Vision.
From July 2006 to June 2008 this website was piloted and further developed through consultation with Blue Mountains people.
Blue Mountains City Council has committed to the following actions as a contribution to this important work:
- Developing and maintaining this website;
- Consulting with community on how best to monitor and track our progress towards the City Vision; and
- Developing and maintaining a trend database as a trend information storage and retrieval service for the City.
Making a difference
We can all contribute to achieving a more sustainable Blue Mountains in our own special way. Observing the results of our actions over time increases our understanding about the state of our City and whether we are making progress in achieving our Vision for a more sustainable Blue Mountains.
Given the richness of our differences, it is valuable to share our ideas and our contributions. This website is offered as a forum for this exchange and as a resource for the Blue Mountains community.
There is an opportunity for all stakeholders to be involved in monitoring the state of the City so that the impact of our actions is better understood and our next steps in achieving a more sustainable Blue Mountains are more informed.
